Supporting The Nest Children's Home, Kenya

A safe home instead of a life on the street.

At The Nest children's home in Limuru, Kenya, over 140 children find shelter, food, medical care and schooling. We make sure your donation gets there – 100 % of it.

Why we exist

When mothers go to prison, children lose their home.

In Kenya, mothers are often imprisoned for poverty-related offences. Their children are left without care – many would end up on the street.

The Nest takes in exactly these children, as well as abandoned babies. It provides care, food and education and reunites mothers with their children after release. The goal: bringing families back into society on stable footing.

We, the association Watoto wa Nest e.V., are a young volunteer team – many of us worked at The Nest as volunteers ourselves. We raise funds in Germany and make sure they reach The Nest directly.

More about us and The Nest
The project

Three houses, one goal: protect children and reunite families.

The Nest was founded in the early 1990s as a prevention and reintegration programme. Today it consists of three facilities in and around Limuru, 20 km north-west of Nairobi.

Who we are

A young team of former volunteers.

We come from different countries and share one goal: to support The Nest sustainably.

Many of us have spent months working at The Nest and know what the children need. Our two core tasks: raising donations and placing volunteers for work on site.
